US Ten-year Treasury Yield extends decline

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The Ten-year yield in the US is trading at a day’s low after having posted losses on Friday following a weaker-than-expected US Non-farm payrolls report.

The Ten-year yield is trading at 2.287%, compared to the Friday’s New York close of 2.301%. The yield had hit a high of 2.407%, although gains were quickly erased after the official data showed US economy added 214,000 new jobs, compared to the market expectation of 231,000.

Meanwhile, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) data for the latest week showed Speculators' net bearish bets on U.S. 10-year Treasury note futures rose. The amount of speculators' bearish positions in 10-year Treasury futures exceeded bullish positions by 47,286 contracts on Nov. 4.

Ten-year yield Technical level

The yield has an immediate resistance at 2.303%, above which it can rise to 2.322%. On the flip side, a breach of 2.25% on the downside, shall open doors for 2.22%.
