RBNZ quarterly survey of inflation expectations eyed - BNZ
FXStreet (Bali) - Tuesday afternoon’s RBNZ quarterly survey of inflation expectations will garner some market attention, with the projections, in theory, not expected to be impacted by the recent drop in fuel prices, notes the Bank of New Zealand.
Key Quotes
"Tuesday afternoon’s RBNZ quarterly Survey of Expectations will probably garner some market attention, with all eyes on the 2-year-ahead CPI inflation view, previously seen at a middling 2.1%."
"This far out should not, in theory, be impacted by the recent drop in fuel prices. But you never know, in practice."
"So long as this inflation expectations variable doesn’t dip much below the 2.0% “ideal” it should keep the deflationists well at bay.
