ECB’s Weidmann: ECB rate hike in 2019 not completely unrealistic

Continuing with his presentation on the Bundesbank's Annual Report, Deutsche Bundesbank President, also the ECB Governing Council member, Jens Weidmann was noted saying that ECB rate hike in 2019 is not completely unrealistic and there could be more market volatility with monetary policy tightening.

The comments had little impact on the shared currency, with the EUR/USD pair extending its steady decline from session high level of 1.2347.
